Tweets rated by strangers
All tweets sent to strangers are publicly available. We draw our pool of strangers from Amazon's Mechanical Turk service. The raters on Mechanical Turk are only given the tweet text, not the author of the tweet. (Though since the tweets are publicly available, they could search for the text.)
Tweets rated by followers
When rating your friends, you will see their name next to the tweet. All ratings you provide are completely anonymous. As such, any ratings you receive from friends will be completely anonymised.
The rating data is to be used for personal interest for the particpants. The authors of the site will use the data in aggregate form for research purposes, (ethics approval obtained E/10/01/003 from Uni. Southampton). We will make publicly available our analysis and papers. If at any time you wish your data to be removed from the website, please e-mail us.
